Jake and Brittany Wimberly got married after work on a Friday afternoon when their son was 10 months old. Although they never had a real wedding, Brittany kept hoping, pinning her dreams to her Pinterest board. Weddings at Asbury heard their story and decided to donate a wedding package. On April 28, 2018, Brittany will walk down the aisle at her “one day wedding.”

“We are so excited to celebrate with Jake and Brittany and shower them with love,” Christina Embree, Wedding & Event Coordinator with Weddings at Asbury, said. “Throughout April, we will be following their wedding journey on our blog. We are so blessed to be able to celebrate their marriage, their family and their life together here at Weddings at Asbury!”

Jake and Brittany experienced God’s redeeming grace while she was expecting John David. They rekindled their friendship with each other and restored their sexual purity. The couple knew they were going to get married, but weren’t yet engaged.

In 2012, Brittany texted Jake: “Do you want to get married tomorrow?”

Normally not a risk-taker, Jake said yes, and the two tied the knot at the courthouse, without pictures or fanfare.

Weddings at Asbury is using Brittany’s Pinterest board to help plan the perfect day for them. In addition to donating the McKenna wedding chapel, a wedding director, a sound operator and all the included décor, they are also partnering with these preferred vendors:

Jake is an M.Div. student at Asbury Theological Seminary and a youth pastor at Journey Church, a non-denominational congregation, in Versailles. After graduation, he plans to become a U.S. Navy Chaplain. Brittany is the director of the Wilmore Day Care.
