Legacy Group Formation

How Leaders Contribute to Formation-in-Common

Legacy Groups serve as a small group experience in the Asbury Seminary D.Min. program.  Recognizing that most academic programs rely on the classroom experience solely to define the educational objectives, our D.Min. Program takes a different approach.  We expect it is difficult to achieve our program objectives without concentrated formational practices like those experienced in small group formation.  For this reason, cohort members enjoy classes together, and also leadership and spiritual formation experiences together. Taking lessons gleaned from the best of Wesleyan small group practices, Legacy Groups provide conversation, support, accountability and fellowship with a group of peers undergoing similar developmental opportunities and challenges.
