Giving to Asbury Seminary

The friends and alumni of Asbury Seminary are vitally important in development of gift resources to underwrite the programs and ministry of the Seminary. The essentials of this program are constituency expansion, fundraising, foundation solicitation, alumni relations, church relationships and visitation with donors through fieldwork.

Asbury Theological Seminary depends primarily on private gift support from alumni, churches, individuals, corporations and foundations for a standard of excellence to be continued.

How to Give

The Annual Fund

The annual fund is made up of current gifts that are vital to Asbury Seminary. We are anticipating the annual fund to raise 3.5 million dollars in unrestricted gifts for this fiscal year (July 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006).

The annual fund is a fund that needs to be replenished annually with current gifts, both for unrestricted use and for general scholarship use. If this were endowed, it would take an endowment of about thirty million dollars to produce this annual income.

Annual Fund Campaign

The goal of this campaign is to raise $175,000 for the annual fund this fiscal year. About $130,000 of this is to be raised through the Phonathon. This appeal is a large part of the success of the annual goal for the Annual Fund Campaign. Calls are made to alumni for a ten-day period in January each year to solicit financial support.

Gifts

Usually individuals make current gifts to Asbury Theological Seminary for the Annual Fund, which is made up of current gifts for general scholarship and unrestricted use. Gifts are primarily made through cash, stocks or securities, or gifts of property.

Partners in Ministry

This program is a scholarship fund to assist students in preparation for professional ministry. Contributions to the Partners in Ministry fund are made through local churches, which provide direct scholarship aid to their student members here at Asbury Seminary.

Matching Gifts

There are over one thousand corporations and businesses in the United States that match gifts to institutions of higher education. These gifts are doubled, or even more than that, by some companies. Please check with your personnel office to see if they match gifts for seminary education. They will have the appropriate forms for you to use in the personnel office.
