New Doctor of Ministry Program

Published Date: September 1, 2017

“I knew I was coming to Wilmore; I didn’t expect to meet the whole world here.”

“Even after the first year I changed how I lead; other people noticed that I’m different with my church and my family.”

These are just a few comments you might hear in the Beeson Center hallways over the summer. First-year (July) and second-year (August) Doctor of Ministry students move in for two full, rich weeks of academic classes, leadership and spiritual formation, as well as dissertation research—all experienced in the context of life-giving relationships. Currently, cohorts in Preaching and Leading; Activating Missional Communities; Church Planting; and Faith, Work and Economics are underway.

Continuing our focus on developing students into seasoned “leaders of leaders,” Asbury is excited to add a Doctor of Ministry in Organizational Leadership in 2018. Students will dive deeply into adaptive leadership to become culture shapers in their ministry contexts. Collaborative (not solo) leadership requires particular character, strategy, and perspective. Anchored in biblical and theological foundations and supported by relevant leadership theory and practice, the Organizational Leadership DMin. equips pastors, directors and educators. Students’ capacities develop from the inside out in a vibrant, spiritually formative environment that equips minds, hearts and hands for a new season of calling. We are also very excited to announce that a Preaching and Leading Bi-Lingual program for Latino/a leaders is also in process!

Applications need to be completed by December 1, 2017 to ensure a place in the Doctor of Ministry in Organizational Leadership program. For more information and/or referrals of candidates for consideration, please:
