Phonathon 2017 #iHeartEstes

Published Date: January 3, 2017

We have exciting news about Estes Chapel that we want to share with you: Estes Chapel is getting a facelift!

As many of you know, Estes Chapel was dedicated in January 1954. As Dr. McPheeters proclaimed, “This new house of God on the campus will be a place of vision, heartwarming, and thrusting out those who hear and answer the call of God…to proclaim an uttermost salvation from the uttermost curse of sin.”

For over 60 years, Estes Chapel has been that place of vision and for the past several months, we have asked you to share your heart-warming stories with us! Thank you to all who have done so! We treasure each one and give thanks to God for them.

Now, we have the opportunity to invest in Estes Chapel so that future students can experience their own special memories of Estes before going out in ministry around the world!

We are not changing the footprint of Estes Chapel. Instead we are returning to the design and warmth of the original chapel while updating technology to allow you, our alumni, to join us in high-definition chapel services.

What does all of this cost? The total renovations will cost over $1.5 million dollars. But this is where the exciting news comes into play! We have had two anonymous donors who have agreed to match every dollar that you give with two dollars (up to $500,000). This means that a gift of $100 from you becomes a gift of $300 for Estes Chapel.

We praise God for these donors who have agreed to invest in our house of God. We have just $500,000 to raise to hit the goal! So, we are launching the #iHeartEstes campaign!

Keep an eye on social media (Facebook and Twitter) as some of your favorite professors share their own Estes Chapel memories and give some insights on prayer and worship.

There will be three ways to give:

  • Online at iheartestes.causevox.com.
  • Text 859-279-4773 with the dollar amount of your gift.
  • Wait for a student to call you during Phonathon

Again, keep watching social media!
