Asbury Theological Seminary hosts the Orlando Faith + Work Summit on the Florida-Dunnam Campus in Orlando, Fla., March 9-10, 2017. The event is free and open to those interested in connecting their faith with the marketplace in order to affect positive social change. The event is sponsored by the Office of Faith, Work and Economics.

“At this conference you will learn and hear how business people are living out their faith and impacting the market place,” Dr. Tapiwa Mucherera, Professor of Pastoral Counseling at Asbury Theological Seminary, said. “You will also hear how pastors are influencing their congregations to impact the world locally and globally. And students will learn how to integrate what they are learning in seminary with what’s coming in ministry from those who are on the forefront.”

During the two-day conference, national and local speakers, entrepreneurs, business and community leaders, pastors and academicians share innovative approaches in business as mission, community transformation, and how to transform an ordinary day’s work into an extraordinary calling.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Timothy Tennent—President, Asbury Theological Seminary, Wilmore, Ky.
  • Will Messenger—Executive Editor, Theology of Work Project, Cambridge, Mass.
  • Amy Sherman—Senior Fellow, Sagamore Institute-Center on Faith in Communities, Charlottesville, Va.

As part of the conference, attendees are invited to breakout sessions to explore new ideas, initiatives, solutions and form collaborative partnerships to further continued growth and impact across industry sectors.
