Presidential Update
In recognition of the tremendous contributions and service of J. Ellsworth Kalas the board of trustees voted with great enthusiasm to remove “interim” from the title of President for the duration of his service to Asbury Seminary.
This action was taken as an expression of the immense appreciation and respect the Board and community have for Dr. Kalas and in acknowledgement of the reality that he is being “presidential” in every sense of the word in moving the seminary forward in so many areas. His capable leadership is strengthening in every way the position and platform that the new President will have when such time comes.
The Presidential search continues with optimism. At this time there are approximately eight presidential searches being held in evangelical seminaries; in addition, we are reminded that these searches can and often do take longer than anticipated. Our search committee continues to actively engage with potential candidates. As people of faith we are committed to the process and to God's timing, not our own.
