FULL-TIME SENIOR PASTOR – ZION UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST

Zion UCC/EA is located at the Southern end of Illinois just outside of Metropolis Illinois.  Although still a UCC denomination we do not agree with the “open and affirming” policy of the UCC.  We have recently joined the Evangelical Association because of our need to seek the truth thru the traditional Bible based Evangelical theology our church was founded on.  Over the past several years we have seen our attendance decline and therefore we see ourselves as a mature congregation who still enjoy the occasional sound of babies during worship. We believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and well at Zion and try to display the love of Christ out in our community. We are blessed with an abundance of God’s beautiful creation as we are situated close to Shawnee Nationial Forest, Fort Massac State Park, Mermet Lake and Conservation Area and the Ohio River. It is within these surroundings that we are able to refresh our souls and enjoy the beauty that God has created.

As we seek a new pastor we remain open and listening to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Like most churches, we are looking for a Pastor who loves the Lord and is passionate about serving God and his children. A Pastor who will reach out to the community and help bring in young families; while at the same time serve the needs of our older core members. A Pastor who will come to be considered a friend and family member by all who come to worship at Zion. Yes, rebuilding will be a challenge but as followers of Christ we are used to challenges. Prayers for guidance as we seek a new settled Pastor.

FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF STUDENT MINISTRIES – TEMPLE, TX

The Director of Student Ministries (full time) provides strategic leadership and administration for FUMC Temple
Student Ministries in order to affect the engagement of students 6th grade-college in worship, Christian
discipleship, mission and evangelism.

Qualifications:
– A bachelor’s degree, preferably in the field of Christian ministry. Some additional theological training is
preferred.
– 5 years of student ministry experience with at least 3 of those years being in leadership of a student ministry
program exceeding 50 students in attendance weekly

– Wesleyan understanding of the Christian faith.

DIRECTOR OF YOUTH MINISTRIES, FIRST UMC OF HOMOSASSA, FL

Do you have a passion to help youth connect with Jesus and the church? First United Methodist Church in Homosassa, Florida, is seeking a part-time (15-20 hours) Director of Youth Ministries. Summary:

The Ministry Director has the exciting job of leading the Children and Family Ministries Team to pursue the Munholland UMC mission of “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world”.  We do this by helping children and their parents CONNECT deeply with God and other Christians, GROW intentionally, SERVE joyfully, and INVITE expectantly. The Ministry is presently touching 50 children per week, and offering a parent Sunday school class, a weekly young mom’s Bible Study, and a KDO Chapel program.  These Ministries have great potential for growth in this vibrant, growing church of 300 attendance that has a regional draw.  Emphasis is to be placed on reaching new families and providing strong biblical teaching and life help to children and their parents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop a full scope of educational development from nursery to fifth grade, including parents.
  • Oversee cohesiveness of ministries to provide seamless transitions throughout the programs.
  • Coordinate with the Children and Family Ministries Team and Program Staff to provide strategic planning and visioning: set goals & direction, evaluate existing ministries and create new ones.
  • Invite, encourage & equip volunteer teams to effectively minister to children and parents.
  • Oversee the planning of children’s curriculum, activities, Children’s Messages, Children’s Church, and worship experience for Sunday mornings.
  • Lead children’s assembly, Sunday school, 3rd grade Bible Boot Camp, retreats, missions, and Milestone programs.
  • Lead Easter church-wide event/outreach, VBS, and Drama Camp
  • Manage communication with parents, oversee parent meetings, and church council reporting.
  • Develop YoYo (tween ministry) events, mission activities, and retreats.
  • Lead KDO Chapel program and continue to engage KDO families.
  • Equip parents with resources such as studies, seminars, family events, and family retreats.
  • Attend Staff meetings to integrate Children and Family Ministries into the whole of MUMC’s ministry.

NEW BEGINNINGS UMC NEEDING PART-TIME WORSHIP PASTOR 

New Beginnings UMC in Stanford, KY, is a growing congregation and is seeking a part-time worship pastor to lead blended worship; familiar traditional hymns and contemporary songs. The worship leader would be responsible for directing, leading and developing the praise team and working with the Pastor to select songs for Sunday worship and special services.

DIRECTOR OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY MINISTRIES AT GRACE UMC IN PERRYSBURG, OHIO

Primary Purpose: To plan, develop, organize and oversee Grace UMC’s children’s ministry
to strategically fulfill our mission of leading our children, families and those yet to come to
know, love and serve Jesus.
Professional Responsibility: To recruit, equip and empower members of Grace UMC to
serve Christ through Grace UMC’s children’s ministry (birth – 6th grade). Develop a program
that nurtures and grows children’s personal faith in Jesus Christ and involves them in the life of
the congregation.
Responsibilities:
Oversee Children’s Ministry
 Equip and empower individuals to be a part of an effective team ministry. The ideal
candidate will develop their team and follow their calling to spiritually and emotionally
invest in others, who will do the work of the ministry.
 Collaborate with the Adult Discipleship Ministry Team and Youth Ministry Team to
bring continuity to all programs to ensure consistency in teaching and scheduling.
 Evaluate all children’s programs, ministries, volunteers and leaders on a regular basis to
ensure effectiveness, vitality, growth, outreach, and life change.
 Develop, organize, and impart effective techniques to empower and encourage parents to
disciple their children.
 Plan, lead, and participate in opportunities for children, and for families, to minister
through service projects and mission trips.
 Execute special events for children and families during Advent, Lent, and other pivotal
Christian calendar seasons.
 Ensure that all volunteers and paid staff who work with children comply with the
church’s Safe Sanctuary Policy.
 Maintain visibility of the ministry within the community..
 Develop and implement strategies to involve children in Sunday morning worship
services, and further enhance children’s spiritual development
Fulfill Administrative/Pastoral Staff Responsibilities
 Hold regular office hours during the week and attend all staff meetings, trainings and
actively collaborate with other church staff and leaders.
 Create a regular and ongoing communication strategy for activities, praises, needs, and
concerns to volunteers, parents and the community.
 Oversee the resources for the children’s ministry, including developing, submitting and
following a budget
 Be available for pastoral care emergencies and other such needs relating to any child
(birth – 6th grade) or their family.

Secondary Responsibility (area for future growth):
 Expand ministry beyond children to the entire family
 Create opportunities for families to know and support one another through events beyond
Sunday mornings
 Provide training for families to lead their kids on their faith journey (e.g., parenting
seminars, leading kids to Christ training, how to have family devotions)
 Resource kids and families with opportunities to serve together within the church and
community
 Provide resources and information for summer camps for kids and families
Qualifications: The Director of Children and Family Ministries must have a personal and
growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, a love for children and their maturing
in faith, and a heart to train parents in their role as spiritual leaders to their kids. This person
must also believe in the authority of the Bible, regularly spend time studying God’s Word, and
faithfully attend worship. This individual will continually seek to honor Christ in all
relationships and maintain a lifestyle which is consistent with Scripture. A minimum of three
years’ experience working with children, along with developing leaders and administering
programs, is preferred. An early childhood or elementary education preferred.
This person must have excellent interpersonal skills, teaching gifts, experience recruiting and
developing volunteers, and the ability to lead vibrant growing children and family ministries.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
 Affirmation and agreement of the mission and values of Grace UMC
 Passion for evangelizing and discipling children, as well as resourcing parents
 Strong interpersonal skills with people of all ages
 Clear understanding of Biblical truth

TEACH PUBLIC SCHOOL IN CHINA FOR SEAIE

Company Background:

Promise Opens Doors, a non-profit organization, is the first official licensee of TESOL International Association and offers the TESOL Certificate online in an asynchronous format, along with career guidance and placement support. We are currently acting as a third party recruiter for SEAIE – Sichuan Education Association for International Exchange (www.teachdiscoverchina.com).

SEAIE is a provincial organization directly under the leadership and guidance of the Education Department of Sichuan Province. Its primary mission is to promote education exchange and cooperation among colleges, schools and other educational organizations. SEAIE has close relationships with Chinese institutions and schools, K- university, mainly in the Sichuan province, southwest China.

16 hours/5 day week.

Position:

Plan and deliver English language lessons, implement classroom management, evaluate student progress, provide ongoing guidance for improvement, and take part in campus activities and events. Supported by the local government in Sichuan, all placements are in public schools, airport transfer and pickup, visa support (Z visa), free accommodations throughout the stay, orientation
upon arrival, 24/7 support, $1156 flight reimbursement at the conclusion of the 10-11 month
contract.

Requirements:

Native English speaker with a bachelors degree and 120 hour TESOL.
