Asbury Theological Seminary’s 15-credit hour Graduate Certificate in Hispanic Ministry Formation deepens your knowledge of theology and biblical studies as you continue to live out your call to ministry. Our purpose is to help leaders within the Latin Church to teach, preach and live transformed lives.

This Graduate Certificate is a program that allows you to explore your call to ministry through seminary education. The courses of this Graduate Certificate are also part of the curriculum of several of our Master’s programs; therefore, they form a solid academic foundation for those who wish to continue their education and obtain a Master’s Degree.

  • NT/SUM(IBS)510 or 511 Method for Biblical Interpretation/Método para la Interpretación Bíblica: Mateo o Marcos
  • TH501 Basic Christian Doctrine/Doctrina Cristiana Básica
  • CS/SUM621 Hispanic/Latino(a) History, Theology, and Ministry /Historia, Teología y Ministerio Hispano/Latina(o)
  • PC510 Care of Persons/ Cuidado de Personas OR/O:
  • PR610 The Theology and Practice of Preaching/La Teología y la Práctica de la Predicación

The Graduate Certificate provides the perfect entry into Asbury’s Master’s programs. Once the student has completed these classes, he or she can receive the Graduate Certificate or continue his or her education to complete a Master’s degree. The Graduate Certificate consists of five classes:

The classes are offered bilingually, because in conversations with Latino(a) Church leaders Asbury believes that that the future of the Latino(a) Church in the USA is a bilingual future, and Latina(o) leaders need to be ready to meet the challenge.

The classes are offered in a Hybrid model (online with a short face-to-face session during the semester), because busy pastors and leaders need flexibility to balance studies, ministry and/or work.
