Letter from the Chair of the Presidential Search Committee

Dear Friends,

We have now completed the hard work of developing the Opportunity Profile for the next president of Asbury Theological Seminary. We deeply appreciate the many alumni, faculty, board members, staff, students, and supporters who offered input and feedback.

More than 200 individuals participated in Zoom convenings, an equal number completed surveys, and the Board of Trustees spent a significant part of its last meeting identifying key characteristics that make this moment in the history of Asbury Theological Seminary such a special one. The results of those listening sessions and surveys are on the site as well.

As the search committee developed the draft of the profile with our consultants, valuable input was also provided by the president’s Executive Leadership Team, under the exceptional leadership of Dr. David Gyertson and the Board. We are fortunate to have such a great team in our search partner CarterBaldwin, led by Andrea McDaniel Smith and Price Harding, who brought strategic input to the process.

Now the real work begins! Please help by distributing the profile to those who can identify great candidates who might consider this opportunity. You can also help by continuing to pray that God will call forth the right person for such a time as this.
