Anglican Specializations

The faith that took root in England has produced renewal and missionary movements across cultures from the days of Aidan, Patrick, Columba, to the present. Adapted to the challenges of the America frontier, Asbury’s own heritage traces directly to Anglican roots through the Wesleys and John Fletcher. Over the years, Asbury Seminary has hosted a number of Anglican leaders from around the world including N.T. Wright, Graham Cray, Nicky Gumbel, Sandy Millar and many others. Many of our alumni have gone into ministry in the Anglican tradition around the world.

Anglican Formation at Asbury Seminary exists to form leaders in the Anglican tradition. We are a multi-cultural community of students, faculty, and staff seeking to live their faith and calling in the Anglican Way. We believe this ancient path of discipleship, empowered afresh by the Holy Spirit, speaks authentically to the longings of our post-Christian context. In that confidence, we gather for common prayer, Communion, teaching and fellowship. Our growing network of Anglican churches and missions, locally and abroad, offers students rich ministry experience and mentoring.

Through our our Anglican Studies program, students can specialize in Anglican Studies as a part of their M.Div. or M.A. in Theological Studies degree at Asbury Seminary. A Certificate in Anglican Studies is available as well.
