Students-Walking-on-CampusAsbury Theological Seminary prepares both men and women to answer the call to ministry with new online degree options. These degrees include the Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Leadership, Master of Arts [T.S.] Philosophy and Apologetics, or Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation degrees. These degrees prepare students to lead and minister within the church, marketplace or non-profit through concentrated study in theology, philosophy, leadership and apologetics.

“The Master of Arts in Leadership is designed to allow students flexibility in crafting the degree to fit specifically into their business or ministry setting,” Dr. Brian Russell, Associate Provost & Dean of the School of Urban Ministries on the Florida Dunnam Campus, said. “This degree offers cutting edge leadership classes built on the foundation of the best of Asbury’s biblical, theological and missional core classes. Elective courses allow students to tailor their degree to focus on leadership, Black studies, urban leadership, Latino/a ministry, biblical preaching or congregational studies.”

Each of the online degrees can be completed in two to four years with minimal trips to campus for intensive courses and allows students to pursue a degree while remaining in their ministry or work context. World-renowned scholars integrate theology, history and leadership into the coursework for immediate implementation.

“I liked being able to learn and apply that knowledge the day of,” Luke Edwards, recent M.Div. graduate, said. “Instead of waiting until the summer or graduation, I can incorporate it that week.”

Through campus-visits, online courses and practicums, students live, learn and worship in a community that affirms full participation in vocations of scholarship, ministry, leadership and the role of lead teaching pastor for both men and women.
