Cacrep_cm_CMYKThe Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CaCREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), has granted accreditation to the following programs in the Counseling Department at Asbury Theological Seminary: M.A. in Mental Health Counseling.

“We are extremely proud and grateful for the hard work of those within our counseling department,” Dr. Timothy Tennent, President of Asbury Seminary, said. “Each has worked tirelessly to build an excellent program and successfully guide it through the CaCREP accreditation process. Thank you for a job well done!”

In February 2016, the CaCREP site visit team examined the Master of Arts in Mental Health program. Their review was thorough and included interviews with program faculty, key administrators, site supervisors, alumni and current students on both campuses. The team presented their findings to program faculty and key administrators at an exit interview on Feb. 10, 2016.

CaCREP’s vision is “to provide leadership and to promote excellence in professional preparation through the accreditation of counseling and related education programs.” They promote professional competencies, develop standards, encourage excellent program development, and accredit professional counseling programs.
