NEXT GENERATION DIRECTOR (YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY) AT NEW HOPE IN BRANDON, FL

The Next Generation Director at New Hope is tasked with leading more young people, including those in 7th grade through young adult age, into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  This includes working with young people who are currently at New Hope, empowering them to grow their own walk with Jesus through preaching, teaching, small groups, service, and other ministry events.  It also involves reaching into the community around the church, building relationships with new families and young people who don’t yet know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

VP OF FORMATION AT ASBURY THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (WILMORE, KY)

Position Title: Vice President of Formation

Departments: Community Formation, Chapel and Asbury Global Formation

Reports to: President

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Position Summary: The Vice President of Formation is a Presidential appointment that provides visionary, spiritual, and strategic leadership toward the formation of the entire Asbury Theological Seminary community, guiding and empowering the Formation organization across all sites of the seminary, as well as collaborating with academic formation initiatives. This position reports directly to the President of Asbury Theological Seminary and serves on the Presidents Cabinet, working in close alignment with the Provost for the purpose of the integration of formative and academic initiatives.

Essential Characteristics:

  1. Radiates and effectively proclaims an infectious passion for the gospel which grows out of a life which has been transformed by Jesus Christ – thoroughly converted, sanctified, firmly orthodox and Wesleyan, and has an unshakeable confidence in Jesus Christ, the Word of God and the Christian gospel.
  2. Whole-heartedly affirms Asbury Seminarys Mission Statement, Ethos Statement, Statement of Faith and Strategic Plan.
  3. Embodies a life of personal formation resulting in maturity of spirit, soul, and body, and exhibits exemplary Christian character in word and deed.
  4. Understands Triune doxological worship, holiness, and holy Kingdom service from an historic perspective.
  5. Is able to articulate a theology of worship which is theologically rich, biblically informed, and historically sensitive.
  6. Understands and appreciates the church year and liturgical practices, along with ancient-modern, traditional, and contemporary worship. Exemplifies a heart flowing with transformational love for students.

Demonstrates the capacity to work across complex systems to ensure collaboration of all formational work whether programs directly initiated by Community Formation, a wide range of formational work of the Faculty (e.g. Faculty-led formation) and formational work that occurs in other areas.

Essential Functions:

  1. Engage deeply with the work of the Presidents Cabinet in the leadership of Asbury Theological Seminary bringing to the table a lens on formative work across all systems in the Asbury community.
  2. Collaborate with leaders on formation and worship on the Wilmore campus as well as all learning sites and delivery systems to develop and catalyze strategic plans for the nurture of personal, public and social holiness across the entire community.
  3. Lead in the design, development and assessment of strategic initiatives aligned with the Asbury Theological Seminary mission of preparing theologically educated, sanctified, Spirit-filled graduates. This will involve close collaboration with the formation work of the Faculty, as well as a range of programmatic work orchestrated through the department of Community Formation, the ministry of the Chapel and Asbury Global Formation on all campuses.
  4. Inspire and champion movements of prayer across the Seminary community.
  5. Establish a high level of congruency between chapel worship, co-curricular formational offerings and seminary-wide curricular goals, engaging members of the Faculty and other members throughout the Seminary community in the integration of academic and spiritual dimensions of a worshipping, serving, and learning community. This should include DNA groups, Chapel, spiritual formation, mentored ministry and all formational work.
  6. Provide strategic and spiritual leadership to the Wilmore campus and seminary sites, ensuring congruence with Asbury Theological Seminarys mission and ethos of Trinitarian life and worship. Ensure the chapel program is grounded solidly in the Wesleyan and larger Christian tradition, while incorporating faithful forms and styles learned in partnership and conversation across the global church. Ensure Chapel operates in a continuous improvement model.
  7. Ensure the stability of an infrastructure of pastoral care, recovery support, and counseling referrals for all Seminary students.
  8. Plan and oversee strategic formational models for Asbury Global students that includes Chapel services, stable DNA Groups and hybrid hospitality.
  9. Leads in understanding data around student profiles and digital tools across all Seminary sites and campuses as it relates to formation.
  10. Assist the Asbury community in responding to local needs, national crises, or international events which warrant an appropriate response.
  11. Establish measurable goals and outcomes including reporting to the President.
  12. Conducts student focus groups to ensure a high-quality student experience across all delivery systems.

Qualifications:

  1. A mature understanding of the dynamics of Christian spiritual formation
  2. Demonstrates competency in preaching, ministry and administration at the executive level
  3. Ability to lead in the creation of vision and accomplishment of long-term planning
  4. Minimum of M.Div or related/equivalent degree with 5 10 years of experience in ministry programming, development and implementation, and at least five years of direct management experience
  5. Official ordination credentials
  6. Possesses a mature theology of worship
  7. Thoroughly understands team dynamics and is gifted in team leadership

Direct Reports:

  1. The Dean of the Chapel in Wilmore, KY will report directly to the VP of Formation
  2. The Director of Asbury Global Formation will report directly to the VP of Formation.
  3. The Director of Community Formation will report to the VP of Formation
  4. VP of Formation will lead a cross-institutional team which coordinates all aspects of formation
  5. Shared oversight over the Career and Calling Center

Financial Responsibilities

  1. Oversees all Formational budgets.

ASSOCIATE PASTOR OF YOUNG ADULT MINISTRIES AT GRACE WESLEYAN CHURCH (FORT LAUDERDALE, FL)

The Associate Pastor of Young Adult Ministry supports the mission of Grace Wesleyan Church (GWC) by providing oversight and leadership in the development and implementation of a young adult ministry with a particular emphasis on young adults and young families. Within GWC’s model of ministry, the pastors equip God’s people to do the work of the ministry (see Ephesians 4:11-16). We are seeking an experienced equipping pastor who can recruit, empower, and sustain ministry leaders and teams for all our family ministries.
