Ministry Jobs

PASTOR AT LAKEVIEW CONGREGATIONAL METHODIST CHURCH (MINDEN, LA)
Lakeview Congregational Methodist Church located in Minden, LA, is seeking a pastor either male or female to shepherd our congregation. We have around 60 members in worship each week at our blended service of traditional and contemporary music. We are a conservative church strongly rooted in Wesleyan theology, and believe the Bible is the infallible, divinely inspired word of God. Our church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church last year and we recently joined the Congregational Methodist denomination. Our mission is to find a pastor who will lead and guide us in regrowing and strengthening our congregation especially in the young adult age group and those families with children, bring fresh, new church mission and ministry ideas to attract new members, and preach the word of God and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit. Our foremost goal and prayer is to see Lakeview become a vibrant, growing, and spirit- filled congregation of disciples who seek to shine the light of Christ to the world. We would prefer applicants to have prior ministerial experience in leading a congregation, but it is not required. Seminary students/graduates are welcome to apply along with others who are pursuing a Course of Study program. We will also consider bi-vocational applicants. Salary is negotiable based upon experience.
Minden, LA, is located in the northwest part of the state approximately 30-40 miles east of Shreveport and Bossier City, LA. Our town has around 13,000 citizens and is a lovely, quaint place to live and raise a family. There are many nearby lakes for fishing and boating and an abundance of wildlife.
Lakeview is blessed to have its own parsonage down the street from the church. It is a three bedroom, 2 ½ bath, brick home, located on a corner lot and has a large backyard. Lakeview also has a preschool on the church property along with a youth house. Additionally, we have a beautiful pond located on our church grounds that is open to the public for fishing.
Our church is active in several ministries such as our Soup Ministry, Prayer Group, UCAP donations, St. Judes, Methodist Women, and Methodist Children’s Home, but we would love to expand our local ministries and also engage in some foreign missions.
We are trusting and believing in God’s faithfulness and His perfect timing and holding fast to this scripture, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal. 6:9. If interested in applying for this position, please send resume to TommHarr73@gmail.com. Video clips of your sermons would also be appreciated. Thank you.
