Asbury Seminary’s network of nearly 10,000 alumni on six different continents and in 68 foreign countries embodies a community with a diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and passions, representing numerous denominations, interests, and callings.
Graduates sent out from Asbury Seminary are serving women trapped in prostitution in India, sharing Christ with orphans in Africa, planting churches under life-threatening situations, translating the Bible into little-known languages, and teaching the name of Christ at seminaries in politically charged countries. Asbury Seminary graduates are brilliant, passionate people. Many are entrepreneurs who fearlessly plow new ground for the Church, working in such varied areas as micro-economics and the use of horses in therapy. They are life-long learners, continually pursuing growth in the knowledge of Christ while allowing that knowledge to transform their hearts.
Our alumni have authored a host of resource books for studying the word of God and for speaking to brokenness in personal lives, as well as books on health, healing, and spiritual growth, and culturally relevant books, such as Surviving the Hunger Games. One alumnus made it to the finals on the TV show “America’s Got Talent,” while another was in Great Britain in 2012 reporting on the Summer Olympics. Many alumni are teaching in levels from primary school all the way up to graduate school, including seminaries. Still others serve as missionaries, in community development ministries, and as military, hospital, and prison chaplains. Many are engaged in clinical, pastoral, and family counseling ministries. Several have been elected as denominational executives, district superintendents, and bishops. One alumnus was honored as the 2012 Volunteer of the Year in his county! Great things are happening as Asbury Seminary alumni take the love of Christ around the world for the furtherance of His Kingdom.
