Band Together with New Room in 2016
Published Date: December 21, 2015
When we hosted our first New Room Conference in 2014, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. We’d had enough conversations to know that a Wesleyan community spanning across denominations was desperately needed and that, as a tradition, we had to do better. We didn’t know how it would grow or what it would become. However, after our second annual conference, we’re receiving a clearer vision from the Lord about what New Room is all about… and His plan is bigger than a three-day conference once a year.
In 2016, New Room will expand significantly. Here’s what you can be looking for:
The New Room App
Our team is the finalizing development of a brand new app that we’re (really) excited about. We’ve enlisted one of the nation’s best development firms to build it. Once it’s launched, it will allow you to connect with your local small group OR friends and family across the country and world about Seedbed studies like OneBook Invitation, OneBook Daily-Weekly, the Daily Text, and more. Micro-communities marked by deep relationships and extreme accountability were central to the early Methodist movement, and we’re harnessing today’s technology to reestablish those formative relationships around a common biblical text.
We’re looking for beta testers, so if you have a group who would be interested in giving this a go, we’d love to have you on board. Email farmteam@seedbed.com with your interest. Oh, and because it’s a web-app, it’s platform agnostic. You can use it from your desktop, tablet, smartphone—really any device that connects to the internet!
New Room Regional Gatherings: Houston and Atlanta
The rapid growth of the New Room Conference has allowed us to expand to include one-day New Room Regional Gatherings. These smaller events will feature a similar structure to the national conference but allow for more localized relationships to be built. And, while an individual won’t feel out of place, the regional gatherings are designed with entire ministry teams in mind. Breakout tracks focus on areas such as preaching, worship, youth ministry, lay leadership, church planting, and prayer, so every member of a church team will have a place to plug in.
Regional Gatherings will occur in the spring, and our inaugural locations are:
Houston, Texas: February 18, 2016 (register here)
Atlanta, Georgia: April 7, 2016 (register here)

The New Room Network
At the 2016 New Room Conference we will formalize a new organization called the New Room
Network, a new community that will enable all members to relate to one another across the invisible lines of denominational traditions or minor doctrinal points that have too long kept Christians separated. A statement of faith called the “New Room Covenant” defines the spiritual foundation for this community.
At its core the New Room Network is an invitation for like-minded Christ followers to “Band Together” into a new fellowship for the purpose of strengthening the Body of Christ in all its expressions both here and around the globe. More details are coming soon, so stay tuned!
