Step 1: Asbury Theological Seminary Scholarship Application

• All students interested in institutional aid are required to complete the online Asbury Theological Seminary Scholarship Application located on the student portal.  New students will be able to access the application once they are admitted to the Seminary.

Step 2: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

• Only complete the FAFSA if you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen who is interested in borrowing federal student loan funding. The FAFSA is NOT required for scholarship aid.
• Read instructions carefully to eliminate errors leading to possible delays in awarding aid.
• FAFSAs and renewal FAFSAs may be filed online at studentaid.gov.
• Asbury Theological Seminary’s federal school code is G01953.

Step 3: Financial Aid Award

• A financial aid award will be prepared and made available to you via your student portal once the necessary form(s) are received. A notification will be sent to your Asbury Seminary email informing you that your financial aid award(s) are ready for review. The award must be accepted in order for your aid to be processed.

Checklist

To receive priority scholarship consideration, the Asbury Seminary Scholarship Application must be submitted by April 1. Late applicants will be considered based on the availability of aid.

• Complete the Asbury Seminary Financial Aid Application online annually by April 1.
• Complete the (FAFSA) Free Application for Federal Student Aid annually ONLY if seeking federal loan funding.
• Review and submit electronic award.

Each year, we award over 400 scholarships based on academic achievement, degree focus, financial need and vocational goals. We currently enroll more than 1600 students, and eighty percent of our student body receives some type of financial assistance.

Students are encouraged to seek opportunities of support through their local church, denomination, conference, and other networks prior to borrowing student loans.

Beginning May 1, 2027, Asbury Theological Seminary will no longer process federal (Title IV) student loans. In light of this, students are encouraged to thoughtfully consider and pursue alternative sources of support when planning for their education.

If loans are necessary prior to May 1, 2027, we encourage students to review their personal budget to avoid borrowing in excess.
