Presidential Search Committee Update from Committee Chair Steve Moore

Published Date: February 26, 2025

The Presidential Search Committee continues its diligent work in the next phase of the selection process. As we move forward, we are now focused on identifying and engaging with our group of finalists. This stage has included and will continue to include deeper interview discussions as well as comprehensive reference and background checks to ensure a thorough vetting process. I cannot begin to say how much every member of the committee has contributed, providing perspectives, insights, wise counsel and a deep belief in the unique educational and formational experience that Asbury Seminary is providing.

The committee remains steadfast in its commitment to discerning God’s guidance in this process. We are carefully considering the perspectives of all our constituents while keeping Asbury Seminary’s mission and the best parts of our history at the forefront of our decisions.

We deeply appreciate your prayers and support as we continue this important work. We are continuing to work on the timeline the Board has given us, but we also understand we are working based on a calling and not on meeting a deadline. Your encouragement strengthens us as we seek the right leader to guide Asbury Seminary into the future. We also recognize that so many people are continuing to advance the work of the seminary, and for that, we are deeply thankful.
