FULL-TIME CAMPUS CHAPLAIN AT SILVER BAY YMCA (SILVER BAY, NY)

POSITION SUMMARY: Silver Bay YMCA is hiring a Campus Chaplain to support the Spiritual Life Center by facilitating connections between regional churches, local universities, and the broader community. The Campus Chaplain will serve as a spiritual leader and community builder, combining program development and community outreach with pastoral care to create a vibrant, supportive spiritual environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee Spiritual Life staff in absence of Director. Coordination of volunteers. Facilitation of interactions with donors and supporters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Respite Program Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote Silver Bay’s respite programs
  • Create a welcoming environment for those seeking spiritual renewal
  • Greet arriving guests, provide administrative assistance
  • Ensure welcoming productive environment for respite guests

2. Program Development

  • Design and help lead engaging spiritual life programming tailored to the diverse needs of university students, visiting clergy, respite guests, and the Silver Bay community
  • Create and lead seasonal and special Spiritual Life Center programming that aligns with Silver Bay’s mission
  • Develop support initiatives for Silver Bay’s respite programs

3. Community Networking

  • Build networking relationships with regional universities and faculty, student organizations, and campus religious groups as well as faith based organizations
  • Establish collaborative initiatives with community leaders and organizations
  • Represent the Spiritual Life Center at relevant community events and gatherings

4. Pastoral Care

  • Provide Spiritual Direction and support to clergy, staff and community members
  • Assist with services provided by Spiritual Life including, but not limited to, chapel services, prayer groups, spiritual formation activities, vespers, summer programs, prayer groups, weddings, baptisms, and memorial services
  • Be available for crisis intervention and spiritual support during challenging times
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Masters preferred)
  • Experience in campus ministry or university programming
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing and implementing programs
  • Excellent communication and public speaking abilities
  • Compassionate approach to pastoral care
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, reach or walk for prolonged periods of time. Other physical requirements may include the ability  to lift up to 15 pounds.

Salary Description
60,000 – 67,000 per year

FULL-TIME PASTOR’S ASSISTANT/YOUTH DIRECTOR AT FIRST METHODIST CHURCH (CRESTVIEW, FL)

Position Summary:

This dual-role position combines dynamic leadership of our youth ministry with the responsibilities of an associate pastor.
The ideal candidate will have a heart for young people, a foundation in Biblical teaching rooted in Methodist theology, and the pastoral sensitivity to support the spiritual needs of the entire congregation.

Primary Responsibilities:

Youth Ministry

  • Teach Biblical truths and encourage youth to grow in their personal relationship with Christ
  • Develop and lead a comprehensive curriculum for Wednesday night activities and Sunday School
  • Engage and support parents and volunteers, integrating youth into broader church life
  • Coordinate youth activities and events that foster faith formation and fellowship
  • Collaborate with staff and church leadership to align youth ministry with church vision

Pastoral Ministry

  • Assist the Senior Pastor in leading at least one Sunday worship service each week
  • Provide pastoral care through visitation and spiritual support
  • Assist in conducting weddings, funerals, and other church ceremonies
  • Oversee specific church ministries (e.g., children’s ministry, outreach, or others as needed)
  • Represent the church in community events and activities
  • Establish regular office hours and maintain a strong presence in the life of the church

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have at least a college degree, a mature knowledge of the Bible and a knowledge of Methodist theology.

Compensation is negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.

MINISTER OF MUSIC AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH OF CARROLLTON (GA)

The principal function of the Minister of Music is to serve and lead the body of Christ at First Baptist Church in worship and service through the music ministries of the church. This is a full-time position that reports to the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications and/or Skills Needed

  • Minimal expected educational background should include a bachelor’s degree in music or church music.
  • Master’s degree in music or church music preferred.
  • Successful, full-time ministry experience in previous position(s) of 3-5 years preferred.
  • Previous experience in leadership of employees, ensembles, and volunteer leaders preferred.
  • Passion for Jesus Christ and leading others in worship of Jesus.
  • Ability to structure a worship service that is both engaging and inspiring to church membership and guests.
  • Ability to guide worship attendees through a worship service while adding deeper nuances and thought to hymns, anthems, etc.
  • Platform presence with personality and charisma that can energize others and lead them in worship.
  • Knowledge of a variety of music and worship styles such as traditional and modern hymns, new worship songs, choral anthems, blended worship experiences, etc. This includes the ability to sing, play, and lead as needed.
  • Experience in leading intergenerational worship with congregants of all ages is ideal.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of excellent worship services in a team effort with the Senior Pastor and other ministerial staff members.
    • Choose hymns, congregational songs, choir anthems, and other appropriate worship music
    • Coordinate additional special music and worship experiences such as solos, vocal and instrumental ensembles, keyboard music, etc.
    • Choose or create weekly worship materials such as call to worship, welcome, invocation, litanies, etc.
    • Oversee visual aspects for worship such as roles, stoles, pulpit scarf, and flowers in coordination with the flower team.
    • Assist office staff in preparation of weekly worship guide
    • Oversee weekly sanctuary set-up for worship along with facilities manager and/or volunteers.
    • Meet weekly with accompanists for worship preparation.
    • Communicate promptly and clearly with all worship leaders weekly.
  • Plan and administer the budget for the music ministry and related areas.
  • Direct or supervise choirs and ensembles appropriate to the resources available in the church
    • Recruit and organize participants
    • Evaluate, purchase, file, and distribute materials as needed
    • Lead regular rehearsals
    • Communicate regularly with participants of sanctuary choir, adult handbells, children’ choir(s), instrumental handbells, etc.
  • Explore and promote music opportunities for children and youth.
  • Supervise other personnel in the music/worship ministry area such as organist, accompanist, and sound tech.
  • Coordinate maintenance of equipment related to the music ministry such as organ, pianos, handbells, robes, stoles, etc.
  • Coordinate A/V schedule with sound tech and volunteer team for sound and live stream ministry needs.
  • Communicate regularly with technology support companies for sound and streaming upgrades and support.
  • Maintain worship streaming software and equipment.

Other Assigned Tasks

  • Plan and conduct special programs, especially for significant dates in the Church Year – Advent/Christmas, Lent/Easter, etc.
  • Plan the annual Carrollton Christmas Celebration for Sunday morning worship during Advent.
  • Participate in the wider ministry of the church through hospital visitation, contact during crisis, and meeting other spiritual needs of the congregation.
  • Connect with community partners for special music and/or worship experiences.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings, yearly staff retreat, and other staff training events.
  • Be fully active in the life of the church.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pleasant View Church, a Global Methodist Congregation in Abingdon, Virginia, is seeking a passionate and skilled Director of Music Ministries. This part-time position involves:

  • Planning and leading a dynamic worship environment that invites and engages active praise and glorifies God
