A Golden Reunion
We had an incredible time welcoming ten Golden graduates and their spouses to Asbury’s campus for Golden Graduate weekend on May 19th and 20th! We really enjoyed getting to meet these amazing couples and hear some of their life stories.
This was a weekend to reunite, remember the past, and share in the rewards of each others 50 years of ministry since parting ways.
The Golden Graduates and their spouses were honored by meals with President Timothy C. and Mrs. Julie Tennent and Vice-President Mr. Jay Mansur, were given a tour of the growing Kentucky campus, took a class photograph, and worshiped alongside graduates in Estes Chapel.
The highlight of the weekend was when the Golden Graduates put on their golden robes and hats and marched into and out of commencement with the Graduating Class of 2017. President Tennent recognized each of them by calling their names and asking them to stand. We were so glad to be able to honor and celebrate these incredible men of God!
Having the Golden Graduates on campus is a highlight for the Asbury Community and Alumni Office. We are truly blessed to have the opportunity for these saints to come back “home” and share how God has been at work in the 50 years since they walked across the stage and became an Alum of Asbury Theological Seminary
