Alumni Obituaries – May 2014

BEALL-The Rev. Dallas, (BD, 1963), 77, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. He was born Nov. 21, 1936, in Lewisdale, Md., to Marshall L. and Zerah B. (Shipley) Beall. Survivors: wife, Jane; daughters, Julie (Ross) Cox and Emily (Roberto) Mendez; five siblings; seven grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by: parents, Marshall and Zerah Beall; two brothers-in-law; and an infant brother.

LOCKE-Linda Hurst, (MAR, 1984), 57, resident of Hermitage, Tennessee, former resident of Somerville and wife of Joe-Reeves Locke, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 8, 2014 at the Tristar Summit Medical Center in Hermitage.  Mrs. Locke was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church. Since graduating from Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary, Mrs. Locke served as youth director in Tifton, Georgia and Somerville. She has served as Christian Education Director since 1998 at Hermitage United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Locke is survived by her husband of 23 years, Joseph Reeves Locke, Jr.; her parents, Stanley A. Hurst and Camilla Hurst; two sisters, Betty Hurst (Steve), Nancy Delaney (Harold); her sister-in-law, Priscilla Daniels (Rev. Mike); two brothers-in-law, J. Parker Locke (Lydia), Rev. Mark Locke (Donna); nieces and nephews, Ben Delaney, Sarah Camp, Jesse Delaney, Rachel Lantz, Aaron Daniels, Rob Locke, Will Locke, Nathaniel Locke, Jonathan Locke, Alexis Daniels; and several great nieces and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Reeves and Mary Priscilla Locke.
