Graduation 2024: Golden Graduate Testimonial
Dear Tammy, Keith, Mary Katherine, and Julia,
Our hearts are full and overflowing with memories and gratitude after our recent Golden Grad Weekend. Your team treated us royally and we can never thank you enough for all you did to make the weekend so very special. The Hampton Inn accommodations were excellent. The comfortable coach rides to and from campus with such fun drivers were appreciated and the campus tour and commentary from Dexter helped us get oriented since there have been so many changes since 1974. We also enjoyed all the good food and snacks.
The many gifts that we received were so generous and will continue to remind us of the remarkable way you honored us and represented ATS. We’ve enjoyed going through the little student booklet with pictures, trying to figure out who is who in the group picture. The luncheon with President Tennent and the framed picture with him and the ATS embossed large print Bible all contributed to such a warm welcome that first morning. The baccalaureate service was very moving and inspiring and the pre-service music blessed our hearts immensely. The tradition of the graduates gathering around the cross with their colorful hoods was so beautiful and symbolic as prayers of blessing and commissioning were spoken.
Being a part of the commencement ceremony and being recognized was such a privilege. It was amazing to see how many graduates there were, with so many degrees, and from so many countries. During the past 50 years we’ve only visited campus briefly about three times – the last being in 2009 and we were impressed by the beauty of the campus and the additional facilities that have been built. The Global Alumni Center is such a lovely area highlighting past history. We feel so much closer connected to ATS after this weekend. Thank you to each of you for your part in welcoming us back to ATS and taking such wonderful care of us all weekend.
With deep appreciation,
Harold and Ginny Scott
