The HUB: Thankfulness

Recently I was talking with a professor on campus about Thanksgiving celebrations.  She shared how her family has opened their home to international students and others who could not make the journey to be with their families for the holiday.  Their thanksgiving gathering was more than just stuffing their faces with turkey, stuffing, and pie.  It was a time to connect with one another and share stories of God’s goodness in their lives.

One of the many blessings of Asbury Seminary is we are able to connect with our brothers and sisters from around the world during our years of studying.  But that connection does not have to end upon receiving our diplomas.  The HUB is our giant thanksgiving table.  It is the place in which we can all gather round together to share God’s goodness in our lives and offer encouragement and support to one another.  If you have not logged into The HUB yet, I recommend you take a little time to slow down and do so.

For each of us as we journeyed through our education at Asbury, there are people along the way who made a difference and for who we are better for knowing.  As you gather with your loved ones around the table this Thanksgiving, may God lay a fellow Asbury Alum on your heart for whom you are thankful.  I encourage you to pray for and reconnect with those who were blessings to you during your Asbury days.
