The HUB: Updated

Published Date: July 25, 2013

Summer is a busy time of change.  Starting a new job…Moving to a new home…Weddings…Babies…Retiring…the list truly could go on as to all of the changes which happen during the summer months.

If you have had any such changes, take a few minutes to let us know by updating your personal profile on The HUB.  When you update your profile it notifies the Seminary and updates in our database.  When you change your address on The HUB it changes in our database which allows any mail Asbury sends to arrive at your correct address in a timely manner and saves the Seminary resources.

Recently I was searching for a friend on The HUB and saw that his employment information was from 2008.  He has had two jobs in two different countries since then.  Updating your information aids your classmate as they search for you as well as helps to update the Seminary on what our alumni have been doing.  As we develop articles for future e-links and events for alumni to attend, we look at what you have been doing to see what may interest you.  We had a counseling C.E.U. event and attended a church planters conference this past spring because of the information we have received from you.

While you are cooling off from the summer heat or warming up from the winter chill, take a few moments to update your profile and even shoot me an email ( thehub@asburyseminary.edu ) to share what changes you have faced.  It brightens my day each time one of you writes.

After my unsuccessful attempt to achieve the “probation” pastoral level through my United Methodist New Mexico Annual Conference in 2009, I decided to work as a volunteer in the local church (where I have been a member since 2005). My work has been in teaching SS; in Manna Ministry one Saturday per month, women’s ministry, liturgy and many Bible studies plus choir. After receiving the MDIV in 2009, my goals included auditing one seminary class biannually (which have accomplished. Usually, summertime allows me a chance to organize how the following nine months will look; however, choices have been limited. Now, in reading the current document, it is likely that Encounter Jesus or Equipping Lydia may be options to study and pray about. Hopefully, worthwhile options will come about through prayers, meditations and self-evaluation.
