New Issues of the Asbury Journal Released

The Asbury Journal publishes scholarly essays and book reviews written from a Wesleyan perspective. The Journal’s authors and audience reflect the global reality of the Christian church, the holistic nature of Wesleyan thought, and the importance of both theory and practice in addressing the current issues of the day. Authors include Wesleyan scholars, scholars of Wesleyanism/Methodism, and scholars writing on issues of theological and theological education importance.

Asbury Alumnus Celebrates 30 Years at Warner University

Dr. Michael D. Sanders just completed his 30th year at Warner University. It was Warner Southern College when he and his wife Lottie arrived in August of 1989. Michael is currently serving as the Co-Interim Academic Dean and Professor of Christian Formation.

Throughout his tenure at Warner, he has served in many capacities: Assistant Professor of Youth Ministry, Campus Spiritual Life Coordinator, Dean of Student Life, Assistant/Associate Professor of Christian Education, Campus Pastor, Professor of Christian Formation, Chair of the Ministry Department, Chair of the Division of Arts and Sciences, and Dean of Faculty. Michael has also had the privilege of serving under all three Presidents: Dr. Leroy Fulton, Dr. Greg Hall, and the current President, Dr. David Hoag. This fall, Dr. Sanders will be moving back into the classroom and continue to serve as Professor of Christian Formation and Associate Academic Dean. Michael’s testimony is that the intellectual and spiritual influence of Asbury launched him on a trajectory of lifelong learning and spiritual engagement that continues to this day.

Alumnus Dr. David Hodges, MDiv ’81, Publishes World Religions Textbook

Alumnus Dr. David Hodges, MDiv 1981, and Associate Professor of Humanities at Grambling State University, has had a book  published by Cognella Academic Publishing entitled Paths to the Divine: An Introduction to World Religions.

Here is a brief summary:
