Dr. Stanley John

Associate Professor of Intercultural Studies

Rev. Dr. Stanley John serves as Associate Professor of Intercultural Studies and earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Intercultural Studies at Asbury Theological Seminary. He is author of Transnational Religious Organization and Practice: A Contextual Analysis of Kerala Pentecostal Churches in Kuwait (Brill, 2018). His research and writing focus on the intersection of world Christianity, global migration and global Pentecostalism, particularly, the ministry of immigrant churches.

Prior to serving at Asbury Seminary, Dr. John served as Associate Dean for Global Initiatives and Associate Professor of Intercultural Studies at Alliance Theological Seminary in New York for nine years. He is an ordained minister with the Christian and Missionary Alliance and serves as pastor of Ridgeway Church in New Rochelle, New York. He serves on the U.S. Board of Directors of Langham Partnership. Together with his wife, Eunice, and their two children, Philip and Emma, they reside in New York City.
