Doctor of Ministry

Preaching and Leading Bilingual

En esta cohorte, tendrá la oportunidad de profundizar su formación bíblica, destrezas para la predicación y liderazgo en contextos Latinos

The Doctor of Ministry team in partnership with the Asbury Latino Center will host a cohort of bilingual students providing renowned faculty and an environment conducive to achieving the established goals of the DMin program. You will interact with your faculty, guest lecturers and Asbury Seminary team who have significant life and ministry experience serving in bilingual and Spanish-speaking communities. So come join like-minded ministry leaders in a commitment to meet the challenges of this present age. Some of these leaders will become your lifelong friends and ministry partners.

For Latino/a communities, such as congregations and ministry organizations, their leaders need growing expertise in the practices that shape communities to be vibrant in Christian witness, community engagement, and discipleship in diverse contexts. This cohort invites career ministry leaders to deepen three primary skill sets: spiritual formation, biblical preaching and missional leadership. In this conversation, participants will focus on deepening their spirituality and of those they serve, expanding their capacity as preachers, and sharpening their organizational intelligence to better mobilize their communities toward witness and service within and beyond the walls of the church or institutions.

Your cohort will tackle current challenges such as:

  • Cultivating habits for enduring leadership and faith formation in a world which celebrates a frenetic pace in life and ministry
  • Raising up faithful disciples and disciple makers in Latino context
  • Leading during times of community distress and increasing resistance to authentic Christianity
  • Developing effective preaching and communication in the age of social media and persistent competing voices

As you complete your degree, you will:

  • Enter in a space that invites reflection and conversation
  • Engage in robust academics, research, and writing
  • Experience meaningful, vibrant, spiritually formed relationships
  • Explore relevant and adaptive ministry perspectives and practices
  • Enhance local/global ministry capacities
