Jessamine Journal Honors Two Wilmore Establishments
So often, when we reminisce with our alumni, two places come up in conversation: Solomon’s Porch and Fitch’s IGA. Recently, the local Jessamine Journal honored their businesses and the impact they have made on this community and the world. Columnist Brittany Fuller wrote both articles: Standing the Test of Time (about Fitch’s) and Java & Jesus (about Solomon’s). We are so proud of the way business and mission go hand in hand here in Wilmore. May we all understand that there is no separation between the sacred and the secular or between our businesses and our mission. We thought you would enjoy reading those articles and remembering those places from when you were here. If you have any “remember this” memories of things you learned here that were meaningful or deeply impactful, feel free to share them with our community in the comments!
Such fond memories of shopping at IGA for my supplies for school and the special events we had at the Seminary.
My first experience with The IGA was in the early 70s when I first came to Wilmore for Ichthus. When I returned to attend Asbury Seminary, moving my family to Wilmore, The IGA was there to meet us like an old friend. It is still a place we choose to support and frequent as it is still an old and dear friend, just like Leonard and his family have been for years.
