These duties are to include, but not limited to the following
Primary Responsibilities:
- Empowered to lead all areas of the church
- Ensures all areas of the church are aligning with the mission and core values of the church
- Ensures the mission of the church is implemented graciously and consistently.
- Distributes descriptions of responsibilities to ministry leaders and equips them to serve.
- Supports the Senior Pastor through implementing his/her vision within the congregation.
- Serves the church leadership committees through supporting them organizationally and personally in support of the Senior Pastor’s vision.
- Working alongside the staff to provide encouragement, direction, and evaluation supporting the Senior Pastor by assisting with staff meetings, goal setting, project development, mobilization of staff, and anything else that is needed.
- Working with the congregation serving as a pastor as needed, preaching, caring, liturgy, etc.

YOUNG ADULTS PASTOR AT CHRIST CHURCH MEMPHIS (TN)
Job Title: Young Adults Pastor
Reports To: Discipleship Pastor
Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Young Adults Pastor to lead and disciple our church’s young adult community (18-30). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in biblical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to connect with the emerging generation of young adults.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead a young adults ministry that provides opportunities for worship, discipleship, and missions.
- Disciple and mentor young adults in their faith journey through one-on-one meetings, discipleship groups, Sunday School, and other programs.
- Plan and coordinate events and activities that engage and meet the needs of young adults, such as retreats, conferences, and missions opportunities.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers to lead in the young adult ministry
- Work with other church staff and volunteers to ensure young adult ministry is integrated into the broader church community.
- Assist the Discipleship Pastor in the leadership of the Wesleyan Fellows Program.
- Serve on the pastoral care team, providing on-call support, counseling referrals, and pre-marital counseling. This position will also be available to assist as-needed with baptisms, weddings, and funerals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, seminary degree in-progress or completed preferred.
- 3+ years of experience working in ministry, student ministry, college, ministry or young adult ministry preferred.
- Strong biblical knowledge and ability to communicate it effectively to young adults.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other church staff and volunteers.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Passionate about relating to young adults from diverse backgrounds & cultures, and committed to their spiritual growth.
This is a full-time position that requires some flexibility in scheduling to accommodate evening and weekend activities.

DIRECTOR OF MUSIC AND WORSHIP AT CHRIST CHURCH MEMPHIS (TN)
MINISTRY Director of Music & Worship
REPORTS TO Executive Pastor
POSITION SUMMARY
Serves by envisioning and creating a strategy for the traditional music ministries of choirs, ensembles, soloists and musicians to glorify God, support the vision of Christ Methodist Church, and engage the congregation in meaningful worship.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Personal Responsibilities
- Must exhibit a mature faith, maintaining a vital growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, Bible study and spiritual disciplines and have a passion for music as an act of worship.
- Must be able to connect with the congregation on a spiritual level.
- Must have a sense of call to the vision of Christ Methodist Church and is in full agreement with the Apostles’ Creed.
- Handles confidential information with tact and discretion. Has a clear understanding of the importance of loyalty, accountability and trust in working relationships.
- Impeccable integrity is a requirement. Must be a “team player” as well as a respected mentor to direct reports and trusted advisor to church leadership.
Professional Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and select appropriate music for the traditional worship services which includes but is not limited to anthems, offertories, special hymns, liturgical responses, preludes, and postludes to reinforce the theme of the day and help bring people into an encounter with God.
- Properly rehearse, prepare, and conduct the Chancel Choir, vocal ensembles, soloists and orchestra/instrumentalists for church services and other special events to ensure excellence and skillful worship leading.
- Lead congregational worship through song, modeling a heartfelt and authentic expression of praise and adoration to glorify God.
- Coordinate with the Director of Children’s Music to ensure children’s choirs and ministries are utilized in worship.
- Must be able to collaborate with the worship team, choirs, musicians, singers, technical teams, the senior and executive pastors, and other staff to ensure a cohesive worship experience.
- In collaboration with the Worship Team and per the approval of the Executive Pastor, plan, organize and promote concerts, mission-based tours, rehearsal retreats, festivals, workshops, or other programs to enhance the music ministry.
- Recruit, equip and motivate volunteers to participate in the music ministry including the Altar Guild and Baptism Guild along with tracking and monitoring attendance in all choirs and ensembles encouraging growth in each.
- Oversee and collaborate, as needed, appropriate music selections for weddings, funerals, special events or other special worship services and events of the church.
- Works with Communications to produce the worship bulletin.
- Sets and monitors annual goals and measurements to ensure the ministry fulfills the vision; recommends improvements as needed.
OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned.
- Attends staff meetings, worship meetings, and retreats.
- Plan all music elements for Traditional worship services and other events utilizing Planning Center Online.
- Oversee proper maintenance of all musical instruments including pianos, organ and other equipment utilized by traditional music ministries.
- Ensure proper oversight of Traditional Music Ministries’ budget including oversight and direction of guest musician payments, music and resource purchases, choir/group fellowship opportunities and instrument maintenance.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Undergraduate music degree required; advanced degree preferred. At least five years’ experience as an accomplished musician and/or music director in a large church congregation.
- Proven conducting skills with choirs, musicians, instrumentalists, and orchestras.
- Strong vocal abilities including pitch, tone, and projection; proficiency in at least one instrument, knowledge of worship music genres, familiarity with the music industry.
- General knowledge of technical aspects of traditional services, including organ, lighting, sound and staging.
- Stay updated and current on worship and music trends and techniques. Expand musical repertoire and skillset to bring variety and excellence to worship services.
- Passion for service, experience leading and living in a service-oriented culture.
- Leadership, teaching, mentoring/coaching, administration, strategic planning, and strong organizational skills. Gifts and experience necessary in recruiting, motivating, and encouraging volunteers.
- Partners with ministry leaders to promote the church vision.
- Demonstrated commitment to a local body of believers. Participated as a leader and a contributor for a large, growing, multi-level staff. Is a “life-long learner” keeping abreast of current issues affecting the church.
- Must have superior verbal and written communications skills.

LEAD PASTOR AT CENTENARY CHURCH (LEXINGTON, KY)
ABOUT CENTENARY:
Located in Lexington, Centenary is one of the largest Methodist Wesleyan churches in Kentucky. It has a long history of tremendous ministry in a growing area of the city on the edge of the campus of the University of Kentucky. Title – Lead Pastor (Full-time position)
Description -The primary responsibility of the Lead Pastor is to preach the Gospel regularly and teach from the Old and New Testament. He/she will supervise the teaching ministries of the church and watch over the spiritual interests of the membership and staff. The Lead Pastor shall serve as the primary spiritual leader of the church and shall be responsible for directing the daily business activities and operations in cooperation with the Chief Operations Officer, other staff, and lay leaders. The Lead Pastor must ensure the church’s corporate health and the alignment of its resources and ministries with the Centenary Church’s Statement of Faith.
Reporting – The Lead Pastor Is accountable to the Staff Parish Relations Committee and the Church Council. Decisions on the vision of the church will be made jointly with the Church Council and major changes or additions to ministries will be approved by the Church Council. SPRC will provide a process of accountability, oversight, and encouragement for the Lead Pastor.
Qualifications – The Lead Pastor will have an MDiv degree or higher from an approved seminary and be fully aligned with the faith statement of Centenary Church. By experience, this person will have demonstrated leadership skills and a heart for ministry.
Primary Duties of the Senior Pastor
Preaching/ teaching/ ministerial duties
- Preach the gospel regularly and be responsible to fill the pulpit for any scheduled church service in the event of his/her absence.
- Administer the sacraments of the church.
- Approve candidates for ministerial ordination and licensing.
- Ensure regular spiritual teaching is a part of scheduled church life.
- Provide pastoral care along with staff and trained laity as deemed appropriate.
Leading/ Oversight duties
- Together with Church Council, staff, and lay leaders, direct ministry work to advance the vision and values of Centenary Church.
- Collaborate with key staff, the Finance Director and Finance Committee to develop an annual operating budget and present it to Church Council by the fourth quarter to be approved and operational for the new fiscal year.
- Provide understanding of stewardship responsibilities and partner with Church Council to plan strategically for resource development to advance the mission of the church through tithing and support for special projects.
- Engage associate pastors, key staff, and Church Council in planning and important ministry decisions.
- Partner with Church Council to ensure policies and safety procedures are followed.
- Promote a culture of physical and psychological safety by modeling healthy individual and organizational practices within the church.
Communication/ Connection
- Maintain regular communication with the Church Council, Executive Committee, and SPRC.
- Communicate the vision of Centenary Church in all settings.
- Shepherd staff through intentional relational contact in various ministry spaces.
- Offer support and encouragement at events and ministry gatherings through presence, when possible.
- Represent Centenary Church in community groups or organizations approved by Church Council.

FULL TIME PASTOR AT ST. PAUL’S MEMORIAL CHURCH (SOUTHBEND, IN)
St. Paul’s Memorial Church in South Bend, Indiana, (stpaulsmemorial.com) seeks a full-time pastor to serve our congregation and grow our church. One of the city’s most beautiful and historic churches, the 120-year-old church disaffiliated a few years ago from the United Methodist Church. Now non-denominational, it remains Bible-based and Christ-centered, practicing the tenants of the Protestant theology and the Liturgical Christian Calendar.
The church is located west of downtown and is a cornerstone of the West Washington National Register District. Current Sunday attendance averages around 50. The sanctuary, including balcony, can seat approximately 600.
St. Paul’s seeks a pastor who will:
- Officiate the weekly Sunday morning worship service.
- Perform sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion.
- Make home and hospital visits.
- If called upon, perform weddings (of a man and a woman) and funerals/memorial services (all with extra compensation beyond regular salary).
- Follow the Liturgical Christian Calendar (e.g. conduct Ash Wednesday services).
- Provide spiritual leadership to the congregation and serve as a Christian role model to inspire the congregation to follow suit.
- Confer on educational programs.
- Conduct membership classes.
- Initiate ways to attract new and younger members.
Salary is negotiable, commensurate with experience, and includes a lovely Georgian-style parsonage, adjacent to the church, that was recently renovated and would be an ideal family home.
