Spiritual Transformation and Vocational Discernment: Youth Becoming Leaders

Published Date: November 2, 2021

Asbury University would like to invite exceptional high school students to apply for the Youth Becoming Leaders: High School Christian Leadership and Global Transformations Institute! YBL is a two-week residential program that equips high school students for theologically guided living and decision-making through immersion in Christian Scripture, theological teaching, and community. This year’s program dates are June 6-17, 2022.

YBL is led by our world-class faculty at Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary, along with ministry leaders from around the country, through classes, experiential learning, and worship services. At YBL students are immersed in spiritual disciplines such as prayer, worship, Christian community, and Sabbath to center their days around God. Students also develop a ministry service project while at YBL that they will implement when they return home. All students identify a mentor from their home community that will come to campus for training and will continue intentional discipleship with the student for three months after the residential program is over. Pastors, parents, and students can learn more and complete the application at www.asbury.edu/ybl.

One main attraction of YBL for many students is the emphasis on vocational discernment, specifically in helping students identify their gifts and callings. During this immersive program, students are encouraged to use their gifts and talents to improve their leadership as contributing, Christ-like members of their local churches and communities.
