WILMORE, Ky., November 11, 2024—The Presidential Search Committee convened on Saturday, November 2, 2024, in the Windsor House at Asbury University to take the next step in the search process for the next president of Asbury Seminary. The applications received in response to nominations, invitations, and advertisements were significant in number and quality, as well as overwhelmingly positive, and the search committee was very encouraged by the diversity of the candidates. 

The committee’s purpose for gathering on Saturday was to narrow down the number of candidates that will advance to the next round. The search committee and CarterBaldwin, the search firm, reviewed the entire pool of candidates and selected those that appeared to be a significant match with the qualifications and expectations outlined in the Opportunity Profile.

The selected candidates will go through another round of vetting, and the Presidential Search Committee will continue its work when the members reconvene later this fall. As a reminder, the opportunity for potential candidates to apply is still available and will continue to be available until a president is named. The search consultant also provided feedback from the potential candidates expressing appreciation for the mission of Asbury Seminary and the fruits of the work of its alumni, faculty and staff.
