Asbury Theological Seminary received the Destiny Award for employee and workplace safety from Kentucky Employers’ Mutual Insurance (KEMI) on December 9, 2019. KEMI presents this award annually to recognize what can be accomplished when organizations work together to improve safety within the workplace.

“Our Facilities Department does an excellent job of safety training,” Bryan Blankenship, Vice President of Finance & Administration and CFO, said. “For several decades they have held weekly safety meetings to train our team on the best safety practices, and we are very proud of their commitment to completing their tasks with excellence and safety.”

Out of 23,000 KEMI clients only 24 Kentucky organizations received this award in 2019. To qualify, organizations must be actively taking measures to reduce workers’ compensation costs. Policyholders who earn the KEMI Destiny Award effectively demonstrate to KEMI their ability to manage a formal safety program, provide on-site training and regular safety meetings for employees, and display an ongoing commitment to safety from all levels throughout their organization.
