Asbury Theological Seminary Welcomes New Trustee
Asbury Theological Seminary welcomes Dr. Jim Dunn as a new member to the Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees ensures that all Seminary policies and procedures align with the Seminary’s mission to “prepare theologically educated, sanctified, Spirit-filled men and women to evangelize and to spread scriptural holiness throughout the world.”
“I am delighted that Jim Dunn is joining our board of trustees,” Dr. Timothy C. Tennent, President of Asbury Seminary, said. “Not only is he a graduate of Asbury Seminary, but he brings decades of experience as a pastor, a church leader and a university President. In addition, his experience with church planting will strengthen our mission and our networking in remarkable ways!”
Dr. Dunn has served as president of Oklahoma Wesleyan University since 2019. He served as a local pastor within the Wesleyan Church for 15 years before leading as the General Director of Spiritual Formation and Executive Director of Discipleship. From 2016-2019, he served as Vice President of Church Relations of the Wesleyan Investment Foundation. In this position, Dr. Dunn served as a church health consultant for over 10,000 churches, as the Foundation sought to help churches maintain health and achieve the next level of growth. Dr. Dunn earned a bachelor’s degree from Bartlesville Wesleyan College in 1988, a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Seminary in 1991, and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity International University in 1998. He has served on a variety of boards, as well as taught at Indiana Wesleyan University and Wesley Seminary.
