Asbury Theological Seminary invites you to join the Anglican Formation Institute, starting February 11, 2019. The Anglican Formation Institute is designed to help both clergy and lay leaders in the Anglican Church integrate theology with practice. Participants will be challenged to grow in Christian formation and personal development through experiential learning. Registration ends January 1, 2019.

“Asbury Seminary is an exciting place for students to be formed for 21stcentury ministry in the Anglican tradition,” Rev. Dr. Winfield Bevins, Director of Church Planting and Anglican Formation, said. “Asbury Seminary has a vibrant multi-cultural community of students, faculty, and staff seeking to live their faith and calling in the Anglican Way. We believe this ancient path of discipleship, empowered afresh by the Holy Spirit, speaks authentically to the longings of our post-Christian context.”

The Anglican Formation Institute consists of 5 modules over 10 months. Topics and speakers include:

Anglican Worship: The Very Rev. Chip Edgar

Ordained Ministry: Rev. Canon Greg Goebel

Anglican History and Polity: Rev. Dr. John “Jady” Koch

Anglican Faith: The Very Rev. Jack King

Anglican Prayer Book: The Rev. Canon Dr. Winfield Bevins

Each module consists of dynamic video lectures, discussion forums, application exercises, and the opportunity to reflect and integrate learning vocationally, relationally, emotionally and spiritually.

“Where can you combine Anglican community life, access to great local Anglican churches, and a solid Anglican studies program from a world class seminary?” The Rev. Canon Greg Goebel, Canon to the Ordinary, Anglican Diocese of the South, said. “Asbury offers exactly that!”

The cost for this experience is $200 per module, or $1000 for the entire Institute. At the completion of the 10 months, participants are awarded a non-degree certificate from Asbury Theological Seminary.
