Asbury Theological Seminary Hires Dr. Michael A. Salmeier, Registrar and Director of Enrolled Student Services
After a 10-month search, Asbury Seminary is delighted to welcome Dr. Michael A. Salmeier as the new Registrar and Director of Enrolled Student Services. Since 2009, Salmeier has worked at Life Pacific University in San Dimas, Calif., first as academic dean and most recently as Vice President of Academic Affairs. He has experience advancing academic programs and student development planning, programs and personnel. Salmeier will assume his responsibilities on January 4, 2021.
“I have long admired Asbury Theological Seminary from afar, which makes it exciting to join this community,” Salmeier said. “In the difficult environment of Christian graduate education, the Seminary has seen seven consecutive years of growth. I look forward to assisting in its continued success as together we advance the Seminary’s mission ‘to prepare and send forth a well-trained, sanctified, Spirit-filled, evangelistic ministry.’”
Salmeier also has served as Associate Professor of Biblical Studies at Life Pacific University since 2007 and has written Restoring the Kingdom: The Role of God as the ‘Ordainer of Times and Seasons’ in the Acts of the Apostles.
The Registrar reports directly to Kevin Bish, Associate Provost and Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Services. Michael will work directly with Kevin and the enrollment management team to ensure academic and enrollment goals are met and that students receive the academic support needed to enroll and complete their degrees.
“First and foremost, I’m so thankful for Chris Johnson and her work as the Registrar and for the entire interview team for their time and efforts in finding Dr. Michael Salmeier,” Bish said. “Dr. Salmeier has a passion for learning and administration, and a strategic mind for student-centric initiatives. The entire enrollment management team is excited and anticipating his arrival to campus.”
