Asbury Theological Seminary congratulates Rev. Dr. Carolyn Moore on her election as chairwoman of the Wesleyan Covenant Association’s Global Council. Moore graduated from Asbury Seminary with her M.Div. in 1998 and her Doctor of Ministry in 2018. She is an author, speaker, church planter, and lead pastor at Mosaic Church in Evans, Ga. Moore is a founding council member of the WCA and has served as vice chairwoman since 2016.

“We are delighted at the way God continues to use our alumni as they say yes to His calling on their lives,” Dr. Timothy C. Tennent, President of Asbury Seminary, said. “For almost 100 years, we have been preparing and training leaders, and it is exciting to see our graduates in leadership roles and preparing future leaders. We pray God’s rich blessings upon Carolyn and her family as she assumes this new responsibility.”

The WCA connects Spirit-filled, orthodox churches, clergy and laity who hold to Wesleyan theology and was founded in 2016 when the future separation of the United Methodist denomination was a distinct possibility. While praying for resolution to a decades-long conflict, the WCA began envisioning what a new global Methodist church might look like should the UM Church reach an impasse. The WCA has also worked to create a plan for an amicable separation and to create a new, global Methodist church.
