Asbury Theological Seminary expands Asbury Seminary Global with new locations in Tampa and Orlando to allow students to learn where they live and work, while receiving contextual education related to their personal and professional goals. Asbury Seminary Global creatively combines online and short residential experiences at convenient, church-based locations into a new hybrid educational platform.

“In keeping with our vision of The Whole Bible for the Whole World, we are committed to giving our future students the flexibility of online education along with powerful residential experiences in an increasing number of sites which make education more accessible to men and women who otherwise would not be able to pursue theological education,” Dr. Timothy C. Tennent, President of Asbury Seminary, said. “In keeping with our 2023 Strategic plan that marks the Seminary’s 100th birthday, Asbury Seminary Global allows us to continue to prepare women and men to serve around the world from wherever they are in the world.”

Asbury Seminary has designed this new global-learning model to make its high-quality Seminary education more accessible to co-vocational students and post-traditional learners no matter their location. Asbury Seminary Global students would participate in hybrid courses that combine online learning with one or two intensive classroom sessions per semester. The Seminary currently has five extension sites in addition to its main campus in Wilmore, Ky. These sites are located in Memphis, Tulsa, Colorado Springs, and new locations in Tampa and Orlando.

With more than 13,000 alumni, the Seminary plans to continue opening new sites across the U.S. and around the globe to extend its legacy of training and equipping students who have been underserved in theological education.
